John Ander Runkle
Anglicans have a long tradition of creating churches of great beauty and reverence. For them, the visual arts serve as a doorway to the Divine.
As both an Episcopal priest and an historical architect, John Ander Runkle works to continue this hallowed tradition. Through his writings, sermons, retreats, seminars and pilgrimages, Fr. Runkle helps many to understand and articulate the ways in which sacred architecture and art touch their lives and inspire their souls.

A prolific writer and speaker, his recent book, Searching for Sacred Space: Essays on Architecture and Liturgical Design in the Episcopal Church is a collection of thought-provoking essays that focus on liturgical space and its proper support of common worship.
He received his M.Div. from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, B.Arch. from the University of Tennessee and B.A. from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia.
